Clean Fuel Oil (CFO®)
CFO® is residual fuel oil produced to BS2869: 2006. It is indistinguishable as a product from virgin fuel oil and does not need to be kept hot or continually recirculated when in storage.
It is produced by OSS® at its own refinery, which was specially constructed to manufacture CFO from waste fuel oils utilising a full recovery operation in accordance with WFD Annex 11B R9. CFO® provides industry with a sensible, economical and environmentally friendly alternative to virgin fuel oil and it has a large number of applications across many sectors.
CFO® has the benefit of falling within the very limited circumstances in which a waste hydrocarbon derived fuel may cease to be classified as a waste. This makes it an attractive alternative fuel for industries which, due to the full implementation of the Waste Incineration Directive in January 2006, can no longer use waste fuel oils due to stricter emission standards laid down in the Directive.
